Libro d’arte biodiverso. Parole e immagini tra estetica, arte e ambiente
We are delighted to announce the release of Libro d’arte biodiverso. Parole e immagini tra estetica, arte e ambiente (The Biodiverse Art Book: Words and Images Across Aesthetics, Art, and Environment), edited by Elisabetta Di Stefano and Diego Mantoan, with stunning visuals by Laura Pitingaro (Edizioni Bisso, Palermo, 2024).
The book stems from the workshop Cultivating the Idea of Biodiversity: The Arts and Their Languages for an Ecological Engagement in the Public Space, held at the University of Palermo in June 2023. Both the workshop and the book were promoted by EVAnet, in collaboration with the National Biodiversity Future Centre, to explore biodiversity through a multidisciplinary lens, merging scientific and artistic approaches.
Libro d’arte biodiverso invites readers on a journey to protect biodiversity by first understanding it, thinking about it, and translating it into images and feelings that resonate with human perception. By combining words and visuals, the book deepens our understanding of biodiversity—its complexity, its beauty, and its vital connection to human life.
This volume gathers words and images inspired by aesthetics, art, and the environment, offering a fresh, multifaceted perspective. Blending philosophical, artistic, and natural views, it becomes more than just a source of knowledge—it is a sensory and intellectual experience, inspiring readers to see biodiversity as an irreplaceable treasure that must be cherished and protected.
Don’t miss this inspiring book that bridges disciplines and perspectives, making the case for biodiversity as a core value in our shared world!
